RON ENGLISH ALL DAY EVERY DAY
I love Ron English. I love the Popaganda websites gallery. If your not up on Ron English, then you are behind the curve. Either way it doesn't matter. It's hard to express why I gravitate towards his work, I suspect it is because his subject matter is every thing I hold dear. Anything from Charlie Brown, to the Incredible Hulk is displayed with such eye popping realism. I think alot of his stuff is down with oil paints now, but he has such a wide viratey of media, you could spend days breaking down his catalog.
But this is a blog. And I like pictures and short fucking sentences. So that's what your going to get...
.... Side note: Ron's Neo-nature work is off the chain too... 64
The toys are the shit too.. I'm a sucker for vinyl toys. Actually I take that back, I am a sucker for anything comic book, toy, kung fu, hip-hop, graffitti, tattoo related. But I am missing the point.... Ron has a sick collection of vinyl toys, and I want them all.
Who doesn't love mickey mouse titties? The backgrounds in all of his works are so detailed and rich, it's hard to imagine how he gets all that detail in such a small space. It almost looks as if it has been printed.
I love his early Billboard work. There is a documentary floating out on Youtube about his early Billboard pieces. Basically the guy would straight up high jack advertising space and put his own message out there... Check out the "Camel Jr. pic below... Brilliant! I love the spirit of it...
